Using hand set type is what really gives letterpress printing its distinct look. The bite lead and wood impart in the paper to the unusual rhythm created by setting the individual pieces of type together is what sets letterpress printing apart from other types of printing.

There is quite literally tons of type in our shop. We have everything from 4 point and 6 point lead type up to 39 line wood type.

We have over 150 wood typefaces hidden in 90 cases. There are close to 600 drawers of lead type tucked into our shop too! Everything from the classics you'd expect like Caslon and Stymie to the unmistakable look of French Clarendon and Tuscan Antique wood type, not to mention some extraordinary decorative display types.
